Artist Bio

Emily Nunn is a visual artist based in Fort Worth, Texas, working primarily in mixed-media sculpture. Her work explores themes of femininity and sexuality, confronting unspoken aspects of a contemporary experience of womanhood. Her practice centers on material language, utilizing found objects, textiles, and industrial materials to construct tangible tactile forms. By juxtaposing traditionally feminine and domestic materials such as pantyhose and textiles with construction materials such as wood, metal, and insulation foam, she creates a visual language rooted in duality, tension, vulnerability, and contradiction.

She received her B.F.A. in Studio Art with a concentration in sculpture from Texas State University in 2024 and is currently an M.F.A. candidate at Texas Christian University. Her work has been exhibited across Central and North Texas, recently she was awarded a Graduate Research and Creative Activity (GRCA) Grant and the TCU School of Art Alumni Award.
